I'm a motorsports fan since my teen years. And that is why I'm not very happy at the moment after learning about Justin Wilson's death at Pocono this weekend on an Indycar race. Just like Henry Surtees, he was struck on the head by debris from a crashed car. Adding the death of Jules Bianchi (after several months in a coma) a few weeks earlier this month does not help. Both were F1 drivers at some point.
I remember watching Wilson racing in F3000 way back in 2000, when I started to really enjoy motorsports. The tallest racing driver I've ever seen but with talent to match and a true gentleman. EDIT: His short F1 career was only plagued by his size and bad teams, not poor talent.
Jules was also a rising star who was set to Ferrari, with the talent of the likes of Alonso, Raikkonen or even Schumacher. Another true talent lost...
I wish I could make a decent art tribute to both drivers, but fortunately there's some tribute art here on DA; my thanks to their artists.
RIP, Justin & Jules.
